I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Baer's Furniture and the extended protection plan I purchased.
When I bought my furniture, I also purchased the protection plan in good faith. The furniture was purchased for use in my home, but because the invoice was placed under a business name, my claim was ultimately denied. At no time during the sale was I told that registering the purchase under a business name could make me ineligible for coverage. Had this been explained, I would have made sure the purchase was handled differently.
To make matters worse, I received different reasons for the denial during the claims process. Instead of receiving a fair evaluation of my claim, it felt like new reasons were given to avoid honoring the warranty.
I purchased the protection plan because I expected peace of mind if a covered problem occurred. Instead, I was left feeling misled and unsupported. Customers deserve clear disclosure of any coverage restrictions before they purchase a warranty, not after they need to use it.
Based on my experience, I would urge anyone considering a protection plan from Baer's Furniture to carefully review every limitation in writing and ask specifically whether purchasing under a business name affects coverage before making a decision.
